The Correctional Services Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of HIV prevention activities specifically targeted to high risk, incarcerated men and to engage the target population into interventions offered in the Criminal Justice Initiative. The Correctional Services Specialist also affiliates with representatives from eight NYS correctional facilities to ensure coordination and execution of grant services. Essential functions include conducting anonymous rapid HIV testing according to CDC, NYS Department of Health, and agency policies and procedures, on request.
Qualified Candidate will have an Associates degree in Health and Human Services or related field and minimum two (2) years of related experience coordinating and providing services directly to clients within a correctional setting. Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, addiction and LGBT issues essential.
