Correctional Services Specialist (Community Access Services)
The Correctional Services Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of HIV prevention activities specifically targeted to high risk, incarcerated men and to engage the target population into the interventions offered in the Criminal Justice Initiative. The Correctional Services Specialist also affiliates with representatives from eight NYS correctional facilities to ensure coordination and the execution of grant services, also conducting anonymous rapid HIV testing.
Qualified Candidate will have an Associates degree in Health and Human Services or related field and minimum two (2) years of related experience coordinating and providing services directly to clients within a correctional setting. Candidate must possess valid NYS driver’s license and insured, dependable car to use for client services activities, and ability to work independently and “on-the-go.” Sensitivity to cultural diversity, HIV/AIDS, addiction and LGBT issues essential.
