The Director of Security plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the protection, safeguarding and security of employees, patients, visitors and company assets of the Evergreen Association. As part of the Essential Functions for this role, the Director of Security :

· Plans, examines, analyzes, evaluates and supervises Evergreen Association security operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security personnel

· Identifies and resolves security related problems

· Reviews and prepares budget and financial reports and makes recommendations for organizational needs related to safety and security

· Performs audits of security related performance and conducts physical surveys of premise security, including security equipment condition

· Assists in preparation of emergency management and contingency planning

· Serves as the Evergreen Association’s liaison with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies as it relates to security at Evergreen Association properties and/or Evergreen Association personnel

· Designs, implements and monitors Association security policies, procedures and programs

· Develops preventative security programs, including the supervision of security personnel

Qualified Candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field and three (3) years of experience in safety and/or security supervisory role; Associate’s degree with five (5) years of experience in safety and/or security role (non-supervisory); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in healthcare and/or non-profit sector preferred. Supervisory experience highly preferred.  Candidate must demonstrate strong decision making, strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. Candidate must be able to work autonomously, with limited supervision, and possess valid NYS driver license and insured, dependable car to use for traveling to offsite locations to conduct business on behalf of the Association. Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally, and possess organizational and time management skills.

Required education: Bachelor’s (plus 3 years experience); Associates (plus 5 years experience)

Required experience: Safety and/or security (supervisory); Non-profit/healthcare experience (Preferred) 

Additional requirements: Must have dependable, insured vehicle and NYS Driver’s License
