Housing Resource Specialist
The Housing Resource Specialist is responsible for and provides direct service and advocacy for clients seeking assistance in locating and securing permanent housing. The Housing Resource Specialist must have a thorough understanding of the resources needed to assist clients with securing safe, affordable and adequate housing. The incumbent must be able to communicate well with landlords, clients and other service providers.
Qualified Candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Social Sciences (or related field), at least one year in the human services field, and valid NYS driver’s license with insured, dependable car (to use for client services activities and to travel to off-site locations.) Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to conduct efficient client interviews, and through property inspections crucial. Sensitivity toward cultural diversity, HIV/AIDS and lifestyle issues essential.
