The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting medical practice staff with phlebotomy, diagnostic testing and all related laboratory functions, documentation and patient retention needs of Evergreen Primary & Specialty Care. The Phlebotomist performs all patient diagnostic testing deemed appropriate by the physician(s), nurse practitioners and nursing staff, including phlebotomy, toxicology and other in-house diagnostic testing, (e.g.: rapid HIV testing, Hepatitis C screening, STI screening, urinalysis, pregnancy and glucose), and collaborates and supports team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care. In the role, one will also prepare specimens, lab work and all necessary paperwork/documentation accurately for pick-up by outside vendors or in-house diagnostics and communicate through log notes in EMR (Medent) and maintain surveillance of outstanding orders.
Qualified Candidate will have completed an accredited phlebotomy program with 1 year professional Phlebotomy experience in a medical setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems required. Medent experience preferred. Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, addiction and LGBT issues essential.
