The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in the workflow of the Harm Reduction Center. They are responsible for welcoming, checking-in, and making appointments for patients of the Harm Reduction Center in a thorough and customer service-oriented manner. Essential functions of this position include assisting with data entry, reporting, and scheduling using an EMR (Medent), NYSDOH’s AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS), and other electronic charting systems and databases, as needed.
Qualified Candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Office Administration or related field AND one (1) year of experience in a receptionist or clerical position required OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must be proficient in MS Windows and Office applications; previous data entry experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, as well as customer/client service experience. Experience with families preferred. Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, addiction and LGBT issues essential.
