Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides providing primary psychiatric services to clients/patients. They collaborate with and support team members to ensure a patient focused approach to care.
As part of the Essential Functions for this role, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
· Provides outpatient psychiatric services to clients, including initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up to medication adherence and management
· Collaborates with clinical and mental health staff to provide comprehensive care to clients/patients
· Consults and advises designated staff on psychiatric-related issues of clients/patients
· Maintains compliance with client medical records and procedures, and complies with all HIPAA standards; Assures compliance with applicable laws pertaining to psychiatric treatments
Qualified Candidate will be a graduate from an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program with (preferred) one (1) years of experience practicing as a PNP. Candidate will have current license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State; be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in nursing; have successfully completed a Nurse Practitioner training program (as part of a degree program or as approved by the New York State Education Department); be certified by the American Nurses Association or other approved certifying agency as a Nurse Practitioner; and, as of March 1, 1996, be certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the State of New York or be eligible for certification. Candidate must demonstrate familiarity with computer software including Medent and MS Outlook. Candidate must also possess excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. Sensitivity toward cultural diversity, HIV/AIDS and lifestyle and addiction issues essential.
