The Security Guard is responsible for the general safety and security of guests, clients, and staff. As part of the essential functions of this role, the Security Guard:

· Inspects, monitors, controls and patrols campus and/or people

· Enforces security and safety procedures and regulations

· Works security for special programming or agency sponsored events upon request

· Creates and maintains an incident log upon request

· Assesses the potential for disturbance or danger and takes appropriate action to reduce threats, including alerting first responders

· Acts as a liaison on security measures, procedures and needs

Qualified Candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, minimum three (3) years experience, and must meet the criteria recommended by the New York State Security Guard Advisory Council. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally; demonstrate personal responsibility and integrity; and show initiative and ability to work independently. Sensitivity to cultural diversity, HIV/AIDS, addiction, and LGBT issues essential.

Job Type: Full-time (First Shift)

Required education: High School Diploma or GED

Required experience: General Security, Safety Patrol (3 years)

Other Requirements: Must meet minimum criteria by the New York State Security Guard Advisory Council
