Substance Use Counselor
The Substance Use Counselor is responsible for the assessment, treatment planning and implementation of evidence based, behavioral health interventions with substance users. Additional duties include (but are not limited to) the management of a caseload, consistent w/ OASAS regulations, consultation with the multi-disciplinary treatment team, linkages to other programs/support and crisis intervention.
Qualified Candidate will have a Master of Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling. Candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience diagnosing and treating substance use disorders. Must be highly motivated and culturally sensitive, with knowledge of harm reduction practices and able to work in a fast paced environment, possess strong organizational skills and work easily with a team. Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, addiction and LGBT issues essential.
