MOCHA Buffalo as Part of Evergreen Health Provides Safe Space to Network, Socialize and Access Care

Celebrate pride month with programs and events designed by and for LGBTQ+ people of color

BUFFALO, NY – As part of Evergreen Health’s center for supportive services, MOCHA Buffalo provides LGBTQ+ people of color with access to a safe space to network, socialize and access sexual health care. MOCHA Buffalo offers support groups designed by and for LGBTQ+ people of color, individual support and care management services, and HIV, STI and hepatitis C testing and education.

Evergreen Health is, and always has been, a place where LGBTQ+ people can come for unconditionally affirming and accessible health care, and proudly celebrates pride not only during the month of June, but year-round.

Evergreen Health also recently announced the promotion of Bianca Morris to director of supportive services, which includes overseeing MOCHA Buffalo staff as well as our Case Management Health Education and Emerging Communities case manager and community health educator.

Morris oversees the coordination and implementation of community-based HIV and AIDS prevention grant programs, including STI, HIV, and HCV testing and evidence-based interventions. She is responsible for the implementation of comprehensive outreach, education, and linkage to care for people living with HIV and men who have sex with men (MSM). She also oversees the patient enrichment fund which provides personal items to individuals to stabilize health and housing.

Morris has served in ascending roles for Evergreen Health since joining in 2014 as a care coordinator, and most recently serving as the supportive services program manager.
