BUFFALO, NY Buffalo Pride announced today the annual Buffalo Pride Parade will be held on Sunday, June 1. The theme of this year’s Buffalo Pride Parade is “High Visibility.” Parade participants are encouraged to show up in can’t miss colors that are loud, proud and stand out in a crowd.

The annual Buffalo Pride Parade is organized by Evergreen Health Foundation, an affiliate of Evergreen Health, and is presented by Evergreen Health. Buffalo Pride’s mission is to uplift the LGBTQIA2S+ community by raising awareness and providing access to diverse events that bring people together in the spirit of celebration, advocacy and community engagement.

This year, Buffalo Pride is pleased to support a new generation of organizers as they reimagine the look and feel of the Pride festival and other events throughout the community.

Queer-led community groups including GLYS, Upstate New York Black and Latino Pride, Sober One Six and Intersect: A Pride Arts Festival, produced by Mickey Harmon of the Allentown Association, Jordan Velazquez and Amber Martinez of La Kultura of WNY and Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski will host community-focused events throughout June and beyond.

“Evergreen Health is proud to once again present and sponsor the Buffalo Pride Parade,” said Justin Azzarella, chief administrative officer for Evergreen Health. “Similarly, we are proud to support the next generation of festival organizers and the evolution of Pride celebrations throughout Buffalo and Western New York. Now more than ever, Evergreen Heath will focus its efforts on delivering critical healthcare services to the region’s LGBTQIA2S+ community.”

“As the local LGBTQ+ community faces attacks from all sides, it is more important than ever for every part of our community to come together to be visible and celebrate,” said Jack Kavanaugh, LMSW, executive director for GLYS. “GLYS is proud to be a part of the transformation, with a new event to follow the parade–prideALIVE: an all-ages family celebration focused on youth in the community. This year, these events will serve as both a celebration of Pride and an opportunity to highlight organizations working together to keep our community thriving.”

Tajé Jenkins-Jones, founder and chairperson for Upstate New York Black & Latino Pride shared his excitement for Pride celebrations this year noting, “Pride is and will always be a protest. There is power in visibility and interdependence, however, understand that we are only as strong as our weakest community member. We all deserve to exist authentically!” He added, “We’re looking forward to hosting a variety of events throughout June and July supporting Black and Latino LGBTQIA2S+ communities in the region.”

Andy Krumm, CEO & Founder of Sober One Six LLC, shared his group’s plans for this year’s Pride celebrations, “For Buffalo Pride 2025, we are curating events that highlight queer talent and bring together our community through laughter, music and dance.”

Mickey Harmon, producer of longtime event Intersect: A Pride Arts Festival shared, “It has always been our passion to create a showcase for local performers and artists as we celebrate a rich, cultural and queer celebration of WNY and beyond. Entering our eighth year hosting the Intersect Festival, we will highlight even more art and artists from WNY as part of celebrations throughout the community. We are working tirelessly to bring visitors and locals fresh, local entertainment, as well as national acts yet to be announced.”
