Evergreen Health and Community Access Services (CAS) to Host Third Public Meeting about CAS Kensington-Bailey Project on January 9

Community members are invited to provide feedback on the draft building rendering for this new healthcare facility.

BUFFALO, NY Evergreen Health and its affiliate Community Access Services (CAS), invite local community members to attend a public meeting on Tuesday, January 9 to discuss the new healthcare center coming to the Kensington-Bailey area. The meeting will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gerard Place at 2515 Bailey Avenue in Buffalo.

The draft building rendering debuted at the second community meeting on November 14, 2023, and was shaped by input and feedback from the community at various neighborhood events, block club and community meetings, in addition to input from community stakeholders and advisors, and Evergreen and CAS employees. The draft renderings will be shared again at the third public meeting and local community members are invited to provide input and feedback.

“Health equity is at the forefront of Evergreen Health’s mission to provide unconditional care and access to a variety of services to help patients reach their health and life goals,” said Ray Ganoe, president and CEO, Evergreen Health. “We are committed to prioritizing community engagement throughout the development process to ensure the success of the project and are excited to see the renderings evolve to meet the needs of the Bailey-Kensington neighborhood.”

“The feedback from the community has been overwhelmingly positive as we continue to hold public meetings to align our goals for the new facility with the needs of the Bailey-Kensington neighborhood,” said Kim Brown, executive director, Community Access Services. “A new location for CAS means we can educate and empower even more of Western New York to take control of their health, and we look forward to meeting additional members of the community.”

In January 2023, Evergreen Health and CAS announced the purchase of land at the intersection of Kensington and Bailey Avenue in Buffalo to serve as the future home of a new healthcare facility. Since 2003, CAS, an affiliate of Evergreen Health, has connected the community to quality healthcare and supportive services, including HIV testing and counseling, health support groups, nutrition outreach and education, food donations, and more.

Evergreen Health and CAS are working closely with Hallmark Planning & Development, a Buffalo-based minority urban planning consulting firm specializing in community planning, public engagement, placemaking, and commercial real estate, on community outreach efforts.
