Evergreen Health expands HIV care team with addition of Seth R. Glassman, M.D.

Evergreen and UBMD Internal Medicine continue to increase quality of care for people living with HIV in our region

BUFFALO, NY – AUGUST 8, 2019 – Seth R. Glassman, M.D. has been appointed the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo and has also joined Evergreen Health’s medical team. He will be at Evergreen two half days every week. His area of focus will be HIV care and the collaboration between the two organizations demonstrates their ongoing commitment to working together to increase services for people living with HIV in our region.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Glassman to the Evergreen team,” said Melissa Gulino, vice president of administration at Evergreen Health. “His expertise in the areas of HIV, viral hepatitis and infectious disease will add strength to our already amazing team of HIV providers and will help enhance the patient experience.”

Glassman joins Evergreen’s team of nine providers who are American Academy of HIV Medicine – HIV Specialist Credentialed. The organization provides compassionate care and treatment to people living with HIV and has a high success rate in getting its patients to be virally suppressed. People living with suppressed viral loads who take their medication as prescribed are leading healthy lives and have effectively no risk of sexually transmitting the virus.

“Dr. Glassman is a Harvard trained infectious diseases physician with expertise in HIV,” said Thomas A. Russo, M.D., professor and vice chair for finance in the Department of Medicine at UB’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. “We are excited that Dr. Glassman will be bringing this clinical skill set to Buffalo both for patient care and the education of our trainees.”

Prior to joining UBMD Internal Medicine and Evergreen, Dr. Glassman was the medical director at AIDS Healthcare Foundation in San Francisco, CA. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts in 2007 and completed his internal medicine residency from Boston University. Dr. Glassman also completed both his infectious diseases fellowship and HIV fellowship from Harvard University.
