Evergreen Health’s Substance Use Services Endorsed by OASAS as an LGBTQ+ Affirmed Program

Endorsement seeks to increase access to affirming and equitable services

Buffalo, N.Y. — Evergreen Health’s substance use department is proud to be endorsed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) as an LGBTQ+ affirming program demonstrating proficiency in creating and maintaining an LGBTQ+ affirming addiction treatment space.

The designation seeks to increase access to affirming and equitable substance use services and to improve outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals accessing the OASAS service system.

Evergreen Health is dedicated to creating an affirming and safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals to receive substance use care. The FQHC is, and always has been, a place where LGBTQ+ people can come for unconditionally affirming and accessible health care, and proudly celebrates pride not only during the month of June, but year-round.

“Evergreen’s substance use team will support your personal recovery journey and services will be tailored to your individual needs and goals. We believe all change is worth celebrating,” said Amanda Honan, associate vice president, clinical services for Evergreen Health. “If you are considering change, looking for individual or groups counseling, medication management, or peer services, our team is here for you. Evergreen offers unconditional and dignified care you deserve, on your terms.” To learn more about Evergreen Health’s substance use services, visit https://www.evergreenhs.org.
