Important dates in November

November 20: Transgender Day of Remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

Visit glaad.org/tdor/ to learn how you can support the transgender community on this day.

November 10-16: National Nurse Practitioner Week

National Nurse Practitioner Week is held annually to celebrate these exceptional health care providers. Thank you to all our NPs at Evergreen Health for all you do to provide unconditional care.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Symptoms may not appear in the early stages, but as the cancer progresses, common signs include persistent cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, and unexplained weight loss. If you or someone you know is concerned about lung cancer or experiencing symptoms, contact your primary care provider — in collaboration with Roswell Park, we can guide you through every step of the lung cancer screening process at no cost to you.

November is American Diabetes Month

American Diabetes Month is observed in November each year. It’s a time dedicated to raising awareness about diabetes and advocating for its prevention, management, and research.

Managing diabetes involves monitoring blood sugar levels, maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise, and, in some cases, medication or insulin therapy. It’s a condition that requires consistent attention, but with proper management, people with diabetes can lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

To learn more about Evergreen’s services for people with diabetes, call us at 716.847.2441 (press option 5).
